In Rajasthan occurrences of sub-surface haltie bearing evaporites are found over an area of 30,000 sq.km. covering parts of Shri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Bikaner, Churu and Nagaur districts. Eight sub-basins/ depocentres of potash mineralization containing 2% K have been identified around Bikaner, Hansera, Arjunsar, Gharsisar, Jaitpur, Satipura, Bharusari and Lakhasar. Out of these, the last four depocentres are considered to be prospective for potash mineralization. The resources in Satipura, Bharusari and Lakhasar sub-basins at cut-off grade of 3% K are estimated around 2,476.58 million tonnes. There is ample scope for establishing fertilizer industries in the State based on Potash.
A total of 98..64 million tonnes rock phosphate resources has been estimated in State. Rock Phosphate deposits are mainly located at Jhamar-kotra, Matoon, Kanpur, Dhol ki Pati, Dakan-kotra, Kharbariyon ka Gura in Udaipur district. Ram Kamunna and Sallopat area in Banswara district, Birmania and Fatehgarh in Jaisalmer district, Achrol in Jaipur district and Aduka-Andawari in Alwar district.
The Jhamar-Kotra rock-phosphate deposit is the largest deposit in the country.
About 332.46 million tonnes of Silica Sand resources has been assesed in the State. The important deposits of silica sand are Barodia (Bundi) having 1.16 million tonnes; Mudh, Gudha (Bikaner) with 3.0 million tonnes insulator, refractory and ceramic grade; Alampur, Dholera, Dholeri, Karoli and Jare (Sawai Madhopur) with 0.73 million tonnes of all grade; Kundi, Kanpur, Khimaz (Kota) having 5.33 million tonnes of all grade; Chabra (Baran) having 3 million tonnes all grade Lathi (Jaisalmer) having 7.5 million tonnes all grade. Jhir, Khori, Nimora (Jaipur) having 8.00 Million tonnes with 97.9% SiO2.
Siliceous Earth is found in Bariyara, Mati Ka Gol, Mandai, Sajit, Babrasar, Dharvi Khurd in Barmer and Jaisalmer districts having 10.000 million tonnes resources with 80% SiO2.
The important deposits are located at the following places of the State:
Udaipur district: Undithal, Coda, Depura, Gogunda, Gorach, Padla, Parsola, Bhungabhatt, Bharkundi, Sanjela, Negdiya, Rabcha, Kagmadar, Jadol, Usang, Natahara Ki Pal, Kherawar etc.
